Good posts Molly - and I like your thought processing as you assimilate new information and as you discuss a source and why it was helpful to you. How horrifying to see the woman who has undergone so many surgeries and to think about how insecure she must be - ? - also, what about the psychological motivators, the gender equities or lack thereof, the initiation rituals in a culture that are factors which come into play when a woman feels that she needs to make herself more "beautiful"?
